about

"And it is from this our unknowable singularity that the powerful and diabolical voice of our ravenous desires rises. Desires of youthful flesh eager for pleasure, the cry of the spirit panting for unlimited freedom, mad flights of the mind through the distant, unexplored unknown; howls and ferocious blasphemies of our galloping and vagabond thought colliding with the much too mysterious walls of eternity, triumphant and dionysian songs of a Life seen dimly through the delirium of a dream, a dream composed of a Whole lost and wandering in a Void. And in the void Death waits for us. This Death that is ours as Life is ours. This Death that we love!" - 'In The Circle of Life, In Memory of Bruno Filippi', Renzo Novatore

Written, performed and recorded 2002-2008 at two art gallery shows and two shows at the legendary, now-defunct Monkey Mania. Album is two CDs.

Tracks 3, 18, 31 [1-03, 2-02, 2-15] performed under the name 'Federation of Sorrow' [which has since evolved to become a multi-person shoegaze/black metal project who have an album out soon \,,/].
This album's title, the name FoS and some song titles are inspired by Bruno Filippi's [anarchist poet/author killed age 19 in a failed bomb attack against the 'Club of Nobles', meeting place for the richest men of Milan] and Renzo Novatore's writings in the book "The Rebel's Dark Laughter", which is included here in PDF format [or can be read or downloaded in multiple other formats from theanarchistlibrary.org/library/bruno-filippi-the-rebel-s-dark-laughter-the-writings-of-bruno-filippi or purchased from littleblackcart.com/The-Rebel-s-Dark-Laughter.html].

released December 12, 2008

Track 1 [1-01] - clips from Excel Saga.
Track 5 [1-05] - most sounds sampled from a 56k modem.
Track 17 [2-01] - most sounds sampled from Ayumi Hamasaki's 'Daybreak'.

Special thanks to Louis, who gave me free reign over his various synths, which were sampled and used on some of these tracks.
Hugs and kisses to these songs' dedicatees. Wherever you are I hope you are well and having fun ♡

all tracks recorded live, performed under many names.
I began playing back in '96 by recording strange sounds, looping and manipulating the tapes and running the output through effects pedals.
